Richard Curtis and Mark Carney host Brunel CEO at Net Zero Pension Summit
Laura Chappell, CEO of Brunel, has spoken on climate investing at the Make My Money Matter (MMMM) Net Zero Pension Summit.
The conference was hosted by Richard Curtis, co-founder of MMMM (and famous screenwriter1), and by Mark Carney, former governor of the Banks of Canada and England and now UN Envoy for Climate and Finance.
The session was opened and closed by Richard Curtis, and compered by Mark Carney, who introduced Laura Chappell.
Laura then spoke on how investors can go about making robust commitments on climate; what framework they should use; how they should report on progress; the opportunities presented by being an asset owner and designing new funds; and the pace at which investors need to move to achieve the Paris goals.
Summing up Brunel’s approach, Laura said we “demand more while staying open to learning as we go.”
