Brunel clients are invested in a solar agreement to offtake energy from the 75MW Llanwern solar farm in Wales.

Brunel’s Cycle 2 Renewable Infrastructure portfolio is invested in the Llanwern agreement via Next Energy Capital’s NextPower UK ESG fund.

The 20-year inflation-linked contract, which has just been signed by Next Energy Capital, covers 90% of electricity generated by Llanwern Solar Farm.

At 260 acres, Llanwern is the largest solar farm in the UK (at time of writing). Another investor in the fund is the UK Infrastructure Bank, which supports major projects across the UK and is closely involved in the new National Wealth Fund (NWF). David Vickers, Brunel’s CIO, sits on the NWF Taskforce.

“This is exactly the kind of opportunity our clients are looking for because it is a long-term investment in UK infrastructure that is also delivering the transition,” said David Vickers.
