Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm is a 219MW wind farm located five miles off the Yorkshire coast in the North Sea. Brunel is invested through Cycles 1-3 of its Secured Income portfolios and through the UK allocation within our Cornwall Local Impact Portfolio, all of which hold an allocation to Schroders Greencoat’s GRI (Greencoat Renewable Income) fund. Schroders Greencoat funds hold a 49% stake in Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm. The wind farm is accredited for 2.0 Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) per MWh of generation – UK energy companies are required by the government to meet a minimum number of ROCs annually.
In 2024, the GRI investment in Humber Gateway generated more than 89,000MWh. Brunel’s allocation accounted for 33,866MWh, equivalent to powering 12,673 homes, or to meeting the electricity needs of 30,103 people. Furthermore, the wind farm enables two environmental initiatives, boosting sustainability and biodiversity:
1. Onsite workshop to repair parts – reducing costs, waste and CO2, as well as upskilling the technicians
2. Active beehives – installation was completed in 2024
